Elizabeth Rentenberg
Teacher

Elizabeth has been dancing at Woodbridge School of Dance since 1996 when she was two and a half. Throughout the years she has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Pointe, Acro, and Modern. At the age of eight she started competing with Pure Energy Dance Team in the New York Metropolitan Area and has gone onto win numerous group and solo awards. She attended Synthesis Dance Project’s Summer Intensive for three summers, which allowed her to dance alongside the company in a NYC performance. During her many years at WSD she was a teacher's assistant. It was through this that Elizabeth realized she wanted to become a teacher.  She has a passion for dance and wants to share that with others the way her teachers did with her.

Elizabeth is a graduate of Rider University, where she recieved a BA in Elementary Education and Dance, as well as teaching certifications in both Elementary and Special Education. As part of the dance program she trained at the Princeton Ballet School which included taking class with the members of American Reparatory of Ballet (ARB) under the direction of Dr. Kim Vacarro. This unique partnership between Rider University and Princeton Ballet School gave Elizabeth the opportunity to perform on stage with ARB. During her time at Rider she choreographed many social activist and abstract contemporary works for Rider University's Dance Department and Dance Ensemble. While attending school Elizabeth also performed with Diwakar Performing Arts Group, a Bollywood Dance Company. This experience allowed her to expand her knowledge of dance and travel across the US.

Since graduating Elizabeth continues her training by taking classes at both The Princeton Ballet School and Broadway Dance Center. This has allowed her to take classes with Tracie Stanfield (BDC), Eric Campros (BDC), Douglas Martin (PBS/ARB), Geoffrey Doig-Marx (PBS), Shelia Barker (BDC), Jamie Salmon (BDC), Marc St. Pierre (PBS/ARB), Erika Mero (PBS/ABT), Dr. Kim Vacarro (Rider University), and many others. Elizabeth has choreographed and assisted many high scoring routines for WSD and works in close allignment with Ms. Lydiette to bring the younger as well as older students a strong ballet foundation and to improve upon their technique. In 2015 Elizabeth entered The Emerging Choreographers Competition where she became 1 of 4 finalists. This opportunity helped Elizabeth explore new depths to her choreography and expand upon her knowledge of dance.
