Tom began tap dancing at the age of 4, he is a third generation tap dancer. He went on to compete for the Pure Energy Dance Team where he performed and competed in groups, solos and duos. Playing the drums helped develop his interest in rhythm and timing which he applies to his tap dancing. Tom began assisting in class at the age of fifteen where he was able to develop his teaching techniques and style. He now teaches tap at the Woodbridge School of Dance working with the Pure Energy Dancers. Tom has won various awards at competition including best choreography, rhythmic award and many high scores. Always interested in developing as a dancer, Tom takes classes at the Broadway Dance Center and attends workshops throughout the year.
Tom was honored to be invited to join Deborah Mitchell's First Company at the New Jersey Tap Ensemble. He went on to become one of her Principal Dancers and was able to perform solo work in her shows. Tom has had the privilege to work with some of her most accomplished members. He has attended Tap City in New York and was part of New Jersey Tap Fest working with Hillary-Marie.
Some of Tom's performing credits include being a solo artist for Souli'on Coterie. Tom has taken classes with Karen Calloway Williams, Jason Samuel Smith, Brill Barret to name a few. He continues to bring new and exciting ideas to class. Recently Tom has been performing with various jazz bands throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
